The Training Grounds

Our Martial Arts Discplines

Akijutsu

Yamate-ryū® Aikijutsu trains students to control attacks through throws, pins, and joint locks—using structure, not strength. Rooted in swordsmanship, it builds precision, calm focus, and practical skill for all ages. Training with bokken, jō, and tantō refines technique. Required: uniform and bokken.

Kenjutsu

Ittō Tenshin-ryū® Kenjutsu explores the art of the Japanese sword through paired forms, live blade practice, and supplemental weapons. Students of all levels train together, building skill, discipline, and community while mastering dynamic, precise movement. Required: approved sword, uniform, and wooden weapons.

Kōseki Kids

Our Karate for Kids program builds confidence, respect, and resilience through fun, structured training. Children gain balance, coordination, focus, and self-defense skills while learning values that carry into home and school. With encouragement and positive correction, every child is supported to grow strong in body, mind, and character.

The Training Grounds

The dojo floor is where lessons are made real. For children, it is a space to learn respect and confidence. For teens and adults, it is a forge for discipline, strength, and clarity. For families, it is a shared path, a place where generations bow and rise together. Wherever you begin, the training grounds await.

Children (ages 4–7, 8–12):
Young students learn through movement, play, and discipline combined. Classes focus on coordination, listening, focus, and the beginnings of martial technique. Respect and self-control are emphasized as much as physical skill, planting seeds that grow far beyond the dojo.

  • 30 minutes

  • 2 days per week

Teens & Adults:
Training becomes more demanding, with deeper study of technique, conditioning, and martial philosophy. Students build strength, flexibility, and endurance while learning how martial practice brings clarity and calm into daily life. Martial arts here is not about domination, but about mastery of self.

  • 4 classes and 1 open mat training

  • Spanning 3 days per week

Family Training:
The dojo is a rare place where parents and children can bow in together, side by side. Families share not just practice, but the values of patience, discipline, and respect, strengthening bonds both on and off the mat.

Daycare & Community Outreach:
Koseki also extends training into schools and daycares, bringing the lessons of respect, discipline, and focus to young children in their own environments. These programs connect martial values to the larger community, helping raise strong, respectful citizens.
